Gigantic Unknown Sea Creature Carcass Washes Up in the Bahamas

The carcass of this large creature washed ashore in the Bahamas on the island of Acklins. It is fifty feet long and estimated to weigh 1,000 pounds. Because it is so large, a crane or a barge will have to used to dispose of the huge rotting hulk.

Executive Director of the Bahamas National Trust Eric Carey is certain that the creature is not a whale. “It’s obviously not a whale. It appears to be some sort of marine animal,” he said.

The stomach has been exploded from gas build up in the sun, so it cannot be ascertained what the creature ate.

Sea monster anyone?

The very distinct long flippers can be seen in some other pictures. Just a humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae).
